FAQs

What is stud #1 fuse Silverado? ›

The 40amp fuse that is located in Stud #1 powers your 12 volt constant. When you have a fuse in there, it sends 12 volts to your plug by the receiver and in the bed (if you have that option) The 30amp fuse located in Stud #2 is what powers the brake controller harness for your brake controller to work.

What is a Tbc fuse? ›

TBC stands for truck body control. This fuse feeds the BCM.

What is the engine room fuse box? ›

There are two fuse boxes, one located near the engine or under the hood and the other is located near the driver seat. The car fuse box under the hood protects engine components including engine control unit (ECU), cooling fan, ABS motor and battery.

What are the main fuses in fuse box? ›

Your fuse box will have two sets of fuses. At the bottom will be 15-amp and 20-amp screw-in fuses with glass faces that are exposed and visible. These fuses will service branch light circuits and outlet circuits. At the top will be 30-amp or 40-amp cartridge main fuses for ovens, laundry rooms, or stoves.

What are the components of a fuse box? ›

It contains three things – the main switch, fuses and/or circuit breakers, and Residual Current Devices. A) Main Switch – this allows you to turn off the electricity supply to your home. You might have more than one mains switch, for example if your home has electric storage heaters.

What is an RK 1 fuse? ›

UL Class RK1 fuses are more current-limiting than RK5 fuses to react more quickly to overcurrent. These fuses are the same size as Class H and K fuses, but have a rejection feature that prevents an accidental downgrade from a current-limiting system.

What is a FAP fuse? ›

The Fuse and Alarm Panel (FAP) provides protected distribution of –48VDC power to the shelves in the frame. The site voltage input to each frame should be between -40VDC and -57.5VDC.

What is a piggyback fuse? ›

Fuse taps, also known as “piggyback fuse holders”, have become a popular way of hardwiring in new accessories. They are often used to install low current devices suchas dash cams, and reversing camera kits. We would not recommend them if trying to install something that draws a large current e.g. >5 amps.

In order to dispense power to operate these other systems, the engine control module requires power itself.

What does the engine control unit fuse do? ›

Well, you see, that fuse protects the ECU (Engine control unit or ECM engine control module) from over amperage's. So if there's an electrical surge, the brain is protected. On a newer model car the ECU/ECM controls everything ignition related AT LEAST. Timing, ignition, air.

Where is the secondary engine compartment fuse box? ›
